Miss Ivy

Miss Ivy was our first RescueDale, adopted from ATRA in 1996. She didn't have a history except that she was picked up walking the streets in Detroit. It was love at first sight by Ken and I, even though we didn't know enough to worry about whether she liked cats or not. Miss Ivy and our young Airedale, Poppy, got along okay - so that was good enough for us. She was with us for four short years, but they were filled to capacity with true Airedale wit and tenacity. Miss Ivy was the leader of the pack, the keeper of foster dogs, the keeper of the family, the keeper of the home, and the keeper of our hearts. Everyone who met her - loved her. We often questioned whether she was Airedale or human stuck in an Airedale body. (To this day I think she was the reincarnation of my Grandmother!) Having had such a great experience with rescueDales, she started our becoming a 4 Dale family and very involved in rescue volunteering. We've never looked back with any regrets, except the day we had to let our Miss Ivy go.
