Past CoverDale

Sophie came into our life on February 2, 2008 at the age of 11. When I received the email about her, something in my heart told me this would be her forever home. At 11 years old she deserved to have a loving family to share her life with. A quick discussion with Piper (her soon to be fur-sister) and Jim when he got home from work, and plans were made. We would pick her up the following Saturday. It's hard to believe a year has passed. In so many ways, it seems she's always been with us.

Sophie celebrated her 12th birthday October 19th and she wants everyone to know that 12 in Airedale years is equivalent to about 6 in regular dog years!

 
She came to us with some health issues that were dealt with and today she is a happy healthy girl. She looks forward to her long dog walks with Piper and not only keeps up with her, but prances through the neighborhood enjoying every minute of the walk. She has given us much more than we could ever give her. She's a kind soul and everyone lucky enough to meet her--loves her. When you adopt a senior you have many things to consider including acceptance that the time you share with them may be short. Sophie has been a reminder to us that today is far more important than worrying if there will be a tomorrow.

So for today, we celebrate our love for Sophie.
