Artist's comments:

I picked this particular subject for my quilt square because the thought of actually having a dog even GO to Westminster, much less WIN, is so thrilling to me. Conformation intrigues me. I suppose because I have spent the last 3 years trying to learn the basics of showing a dog (and looking like you know what you're doing and without falling down) and the painstaking grooming work that goes along with it. I have met so many fascinating people.....and even MORE fascinating dogs......through conformation activities. Of course, in the final analysis, I know that ALL Airedales are the champions of someone's heart and that's really all that matters. Whenever I look at my three -- Walker, Dosi, and Lola -- I see purple and gold ribbons hanging around their necks whether anyone else does or not! Love does that to you.

Artist's Bio:

8 months ago we moved to our new house in the country......we're still moving....or so it seems. Slowly but surely box contents are seeing the light of day. No pictures or curtains on the walls, but I'm beginning to like that "spare" look . Walker, Dosi & Lola LOVE all the room they have and the fact that occasionally a deer comes to the back fence to say hello! John spends all his time away from the bank cutting grass....5 acres is a LOT of grass. I wear many different hats: dog wrangler, maid, gardener, etc. I have a background in clinical social work and right now am teaching a Psych 101 class at an area community college. I am still struggling to find the time to fit in CONSISTENT clicker training with the troops. But I haven't given up.
