Artist's comments:

My quilt block depicts Airedales in Canada and their contribution to the breed in North America. The background of the square is truly Canadian - with Northern Lights and snowflakes, and of course a Maple Leaf (another Canadian symbol) and the Airedale head superimposed.

I hate to admit this, but due to a variety of circumstances, including too many Airedales to groom and show, my sister, Frances Mester of Edmonton, Alberta (a traitor who owns afghan hounds) designed and appliquéd my square.

PS - She also has already designed another square for 2001!!!
