Past CoverDale

Abby came to us because of her previous owner's misplaced priorities. He was marrying a woman who made him choose, her or the dog. He picked the woman, which we think was a bad decision. How can you love someone who would make you give up your beloved companion? His loss is our gain, though, because Abby is a great dog. She is more serious than any of the other Airedales we've known but she's very sweet natured. It took her a while to warm up to us but now she is very affectionate. She tolerates Calvin, our other rescue dog, and will play with him on occasion but always on her terms. She totally bosses him around and he is OK with that. Abby is not big on toys or games but she is an avid hunter. Our yard is now free of rodents, thanks to her. She is also extremely protective. No one comes close to her people or house without being noisily challenged. In spite of being betrayed by her first dad, she remains a daddy's girl. She loves all of us but her new dad is number one with her. She?s a sweetheart and is a great addition to our family.

Airedale Information

The ATCA Rescue & Adoption Committee maintains and updates a network of contacts across the country to aid in the re-homing of purebred Airedale Terriers who are lost or abandoned. These contacts are volunteers located in several states, as well as Canada, working to help Airedales in need, adopting them to permanent loving homes.
