Jan J. Armour, 66, of Bloomfield, passed away at 8:10 p.m. on Friday, September 18, 2009 at his residence.

Born on October 21, 1942 in Clarksburg, West Virginia, he was the son of Carl and Florence (Kyle) Armour.

He retired from NSWC Crane as an inspector and served his country with the USMC.  He belonged to the Solsberry Masonic Lodge and Order of Eastern Star, the Lyons American Legion Post 479 and was an avid outdoorsman.

Surviving relatives include: his wife, Sandra (Beasley) Armour who he married January 21, 1972; grandchildren Kyle and Dyllan Armour of Williams; daughter-in-law, Irma Armour of Williams; brothers and sisters, Carl (Jorene) Armour and Ann (Dan) Cooper all of West Virginia, Becky Townsend (Mike Price), Bob (Terry) Armour, Enid (Albert) Abdo all of Florida, and Leona (Jim) Hobson of Bloomfield; Kevin and Penny Hobson and several other nieces and nephews.

He was preceeded in death by a son, Christopher Jay Armour, on July 28, 2006 and his parents.

Graveside service was conducted at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2009 at Walnut Grove cemetery in rural Bloomfield, with the Rev. David Wilde officiating.  Military honors were conducted by American Legion Post 479 Lyons.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Airedale Terrier Club of America Rescue and Adoption Committee.
