Izzy was most likely abandoned after a family moved.  He was found by a family in our area of the mountains with a collar and rabies tag on which the name of the vet clinic had been carefully etched out.  We traced his tag and the phone number had been disconnected.

Izzy was an "outgoing" young male and what records we could get indicated he was less that 1 year old.  He was "creative" and "exuberant"  and it became obvious that he needed an Airedale experienced home.

Then we met Sheri and Ira Karmiol who had lived with Airedales and knew what to expect.  Of course Izzy may have provided a bit more than they expected.  He was a challenge....but a lovable challenge.

Sheri and Ira represent the bedrock of Airedale Rescue in New Mexico.  Their contributions are innumerable.  They take in Senior Airedales... and..."Near dales" (well it looked sort of purebred??) and provide a loving home for all.

Thank you Sheri and Ira....

Izzy...we miss you.

Airedale Information

The ATCA Rescue & Adoption Committee maintains and updates a network of contacts across the country to aid in the re-homing of purebred Airedale Terriers who are lost or abandoned. These contacts are volunteers located in several states, as well as Canada, working to help Airedales in need, adopting them to permanent loving homes.
